The delivery of humanitarian aid made the difference between life and death by starvation for countless survivors. International condemnation of the massacres propelled an international campaign at the end of WWI led by American philanthropies to rescue the survivors scattered across the Syrian Desert and to create orphanages to educate the thousands of destitute children.
Humanitarian Response

Philanthropic organizations in the United States, Great Britain, and elsewhere raised funds to assist survivors of the Armenian Genocide with food and shelter.
